Bever Dye provides legal services to a diverse client base throughout Kansas and the United States, ranging from businesses and service-based companies to individuals, estates, and trusts. Originally focused on taxation, our firm gradually expanded its emphasis to include the representation of business and real estate interests as well as estate planning and administration (probate), trusts, employee benefits and ERISA, charitable planning, and not-for-profit organizations. We also act as general counsel to some of the largest charitable organizations in Kansas.

History
Built on a strong tradition of service and expertise, Bever Dye was founded in 1937 by Ellis D. Bever, a prominent Kansas attorney who had served his state with distinction. The principal drafter of the initial Kansas Income Tax Act, Bever was also the first Director of the Kansas Department of Revenue and served as an attorney with the U.S. Board of Tax Appeals (now the United States Tax Court).
Having served as general counsel to the Kansas Department of Revenue and a well-known litigator, James D. Dye soon joined the firm, and the firm capitalized on the vast tax law experience of both partners. The initial and primary focus of Bever Dye was on federal and state taxes, tax planning, tax controversies, and tax litigation. However, today many clients look to our firm for legal guidance and representation in real estate and business transactions of varied types, along with estate planning, employee benefits, and other areas.
Community Involvement
The attorneys at Bever Dye are actively involved in a variety of professional, charitable, and civic organizations. Firm members currently serve on several executive committees of the Kansas Bar Association, the Wichita Bar Association, and the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. The firm's lawyers also serve on the local boards of charitable organizations such as Senior Services, Inc. of Wichita, Junior Achievement of Kansas, Inc., Boys and Girls Clubs of South Central Kansas, and the Wichita YMCA. In addition, many of the firm's attorneys participate in local Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions clubs, and other civic and church groups.
