Carson practices in the areas of taxation, trusts and estates, wills, probate and business law. He represents clients in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and in the federal courts. Carson also regularly represents clients before the Collection Division of the Internal Revenue Service. His representative clients include individuals and closely held businesses. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas and Kansas state courts.

Carson is a Certified Public Accountant. He is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs, Kansas Society of CPAs, Oklahoma Society of CPAs and the Wichita Society of CPAs. He is a member of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and Wichita Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.

Carson lectures on tax and related issues to professional and various other organizations.
